The SteelSeries Arctis 7P+ wireless headset is not only stylish but extremely comfortable. This headset can be carried across multiple platforms, bringing the all-in-one gaming headset a new experience.

Bottom Line

SteelSeries offers the Arctis 7P+ wireless headset for $169.99, and it's well worth it. Plug and play out of the box and with the provided USB-C dongle, you can alternate between whichever platform you decide to play. The headset is comfortable, lightweight yet durable, and the 30-hour battery life gets you through long gaming sessions. On the plus side, if you heavily reside on the PlayStation 5, the Arctis 7P+ is fully compatible with Sony’s Tempest 3D Audio which delivers immersive audio for select games.

Pros

  • Retractable mic

  • Comfort

  • Battery life

  • 40 ft range

  • Build quality

Cons

  • No Xbox support

Features

One of the nicest features compared to other headsets is their signature ski goggle band design making it easily adjustable and comfortable for whatever size head you have. The headset is lightweight and breathable, making those grinding sessions a little more enjoyable. Included in the design are numerous controls located on both ear muffs that give the ability to mute, change volume, and adjust sidetone. As for the microphone, it is retractable and bendable so you can adjust it to where you find the best audio quality. Personally, after using this headset, I have found that the audio still picks up nicely with the mic fully retracted into the headset. Having it extended will give you voice feedback (depending on your sidetone adjustment), which is nice for Zoom or Discord calls. The only negative I have to say about the headset is the depth of the ear muffs, which should be a bit deeper. The downloadable sound driver can also be a bit finicky when tuning out your adjustments

Battery Life

With the new 2022 version, SteelSeries has made some minor updates to the headset. The design and construction remain mostly the same aside from the improved battery life and charging capabilities. The enhanced battery in the 7p+ gives over 30 hours in a single charge and with the new addition of the USB-C charging port, quick charging capabilities allow you to scavenge three hours time with only a 15-minute charge. During my own gaming sessions, I feel like I never run out of battery. It would allow for hours of playing without having to be charged, which is great for a wireless headset.

Compatibility

The 40 mm audio drivers and frequency band work great to produce quality sound, offering a Discord-certified noise-canceling microphone. The 7p+ is originally designed for the PS5 and brings out the highlights in Sony’s Tempest 3D audio which encapsulates you in a 360-degree immersive audio experience. You will find that it is fully compatible via the USB-C dongle with all of these devices: Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Oculus Quest 2, Mac, PC, and some Android products. SteelSeries does not offer Xbox compatibility with this specific headset. A nice feature of this headset is the ability to replace lost or damaged pieces for a reasonable price. The SteelSeries website offers a good variety of ear muffs in different materials along with a replacement USB-C transmitter and cables.

Should You Buy It?

Overall, I have loved this headset since the moment I bought it. It is extremely comfortable and lightweight. The battery life is awesome. I can walk around almost anywhere in my house and still be connected to the chat. For $169.99, you get a well-rounded wireless gaming headset with great sound quality that can be used on almost any platform.
